WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Crews Tuesday worked to repair a broken water main that has ruptured in West Hollywood.
The 8-inch, 93-year-old pipe burst just before 1 a.m. in the area of Melrose and Sweetzer avenues, according to LADWP workers.
Upon their arrival, authorities shut off water in the immediate area.
Ten customers have been affected by the incident.
Melrose Avenue will remain closed in both directions between Sweetzer Avenue and Flores Street until 3 p.m., officials said.
CBS2’s Jasmine Viel reported this is the third pipe to rupture in the area since Friday.
The cause of the water main break remains under investigation.
